KICK HURTS RIDER

A RIDER was taken to hospital suffering from head, abdominal and pelvic injuries after a horse bolted and struck her, seemingly with its hoofs.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were called to a private residence at Maudsland about 8.30am on Friday, a spokeswoman said.

Paramedics treated a patient of an undisclosed age and gender. The rider was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
