The West Indies might be down in the T20 rankings, but their recent form suggests they are one of the teams to watch heading into this year’s World Cup. They were far too good for Australia in the shortest format and they’ll fancy their chances at home against Pakistan. The first game of the series was washed out, but it didn’t stop Kieron Pollard from showing off his brute force with a couple of big sixes. Pakistan struggled in their recent ODI series against England, but they were far more competitive in the T20s, narrowly going down 2-1.

It looms as one of the mismatches of the round, but this could be a banana peel for a Geelong team that has a habit of dropping the odd game when they are expected to win by a cricket score. The Cats have been cruising and head into the weekend in equal-first position on the back of four straight wins. Their defence has been miserly and their forwards are getting the job done, but they race a resurgent Kangaroos side that is desperate to avoid the wooden spoon. They thrashed the Blues last week and are showing great signs.
