PRESSURE ON LIONS AS QAFL FINALS RACE HEATS UP
PALM Beach Currumbin will need to overcome premiership fancy Labrador in order to keep its slim QAFL finals hopes alive on Saturday.
The Lions will travel to Cooke Murphy Oval to play the ladderleading Tigers.
PBC sits eighth on the ladder, two wins outside of the top six with four rounds to play.
The round 19 fixture is also important to Labrador which will be hoping to keep a four-point buffer over closest rival Broadbeach which is second on the ladder and favourite to beat Noosa at Subaru Oval on Saturday. Broadbeach has lost just three games this year and looks to be gathering some momentum again after getting some key players back from injury for the run home. Surfers Paradise has a bye this weekend, opening the door for the likes of Maroochydore and Morningside, who sit a win behind the fourth-placed Demons, to bridge the gap and remain in the hunt for a top-four finish.
