FLOWER POWER INSPIRES BELLE TO CHANGE COURSE

- CRYSTAL FOX

BELLE Clark started her own florist business after she decided to follow her creative passion while promoting her sustainable beliefs.

Eight months later, the 20-year-old is already winning accolades, with her business Bee’s Blossom and Plants announced as the Best Florist on the Gold Coast after hundreds of nominations to edge out Lully and Rose Floral Studio.

A year ago, Ms Clark was a painter and worked the night-fill shifts at the local supermarket but a trip to Japan during the Cherry Blossom season inspired her to follow her dreams.

“Japan will always be special to me because it is the place which inspired me to finally listen to my intuition and start taking floristry seriously,” she said.

Ms Clark graduated from the Gold Coast Floristry and Retail Management school in April after nine months of studying.

“I was working at a florist shop when I was studying and their ethics did not align with mine,” she said.

“I strive to only support Australian growers.

“I will be getting the flowers directly from the Blue Gum valley farm myself.

“All my wrapping is biodegradable except for the cello paper.

“Instead of a staple for my business card I use a peg and the twine I use as a ribbon can go straight into the garden or worm farm.”

Ms Clark said her grandparents were her biggest influence and inspired her creative side.

Ms Clark specialises in weddings and events and stocks her flowers at Blackboard Varsity, The Market Place Cafe, Wild Cherry Coffee Bar and My French pastries as well as offering online delivery options every day.
