RACE 5 – Benchmark 78 (1100m)

Modelka ran a close second at Ipswich last start, drops 7kg from that run and maps beautifully from the draw. Aceplay looks ready to fire fresh after a recent trial win and the stable is flying. Invincore was beaten as an odds-on favourite at Grafton and can bounce back after a recent trial placing. Ditmas is a track and distance specialist and Elixir gets the benefit of a claim. Both will appreciate the steep drop in class.

SELECTIONS: 9 Modelka, 6 Aceplay, 3 Invincore, 2 Ditmas, 1 Elixir RACE 6 – Benchmark 62 (1100m)

Norm’s Choice resumes here and did bolt in first-up last preparation at Ipswich. The 3kg claim and low draw are both in her favour. Acumen resumes and had excuses first-up last preparation when beaten as a heavily backed favourite. Can atone. Gogol may have to work to cross from the wide draw but was a dominant winner here last start. Somebody’s Girl is third-up fit and should race on the speed from the inside alley.

SELECTIONS: 7 Norm’s Choice, 2 Acumen, 4 Gogol, 9 Somebody’s Girl RACE 7 – Class 2 Handicap (1200m)

Smooth Move should have finished closer when resuming over 1100m last start. Looks a moral if he can settle closer to the speed this time. Dynamic Duo will find this easier than his past couple of starts and both career wins have been at this track and distance. Captivated will be fitter following his first-up effort here.

Mother’s Day won convincingly at Warwick last start.

SELECTIONS: 1 Smooth Move, 5 Dynamic Duo, 8 Captivated, 9 Mother’s Day RACE 8 – Benchmark 60 (1400m)

Chevrons’n’rockers ran-on well at Ipswich last start despite covering a stack of ground. Can settle closer to the speed from the better draw. Mishani Destroyer should be able to find the lead easily from the inside gate and is a winning chance third-up fit. Leica Bita Fun was an impressive maiden winner over 1200m. Bohemian Boom wasn’t far away at Eagle Farm last start.

SELECTIONS: 5 Chevrons’n’rockers, 1 Mishani Destroyer, 4 Leica Bita Fun, 8 Bohemian Boom
