THE QUADDIE $1M MAGIC MILLIONS CUP

-

RACE 6

(1400M)

They don’t get much tougher than this! Going with Beau Rossa ($9.50) to improve on what we saw at Doomben. He has trialled since and his Memsie run remains a benchmark in this field. Will roll forward and try and tuck in behind a good speed. Nudge ($7.50) will be out the back and charging at the end. G1 placed over this trip. Apache Chase ($6.50) will be working going forward but we know he will keep finding under pressure. Kementari ($5) has the 61kg but was very good fresh and has now shed the non-winner tag. Hard Empire ($19) (found line strongly both runs) and Aim ($31) (ignore last start on wet) are two at odds with knockout hopes.

SELECTIONS:

3 Beau Rossa, 7 Nudge, 2 Apache Chase, 1 Kementari, 6 Hard Empire,

8 Aim

RACE 7 MAGIC MILLIONS 2YO CLASSIC (1200M)

Can go thinner here, thinking it’s Team Snowden versus the fav Coolangatta. Suspect Coolangatta ($2) will have come on from what we saw at Doomben, where she got the job done without being spectacular. She’s the one in the field with the big rating on debut where she blitzed them. Back on top of the ground, it might be a similar story. Russian Conquest ($6.50) was just fair winning on debut at Newcastle, but jumped out of the ground belting her rivals at Randwick. Drawn to get a gun run and have every chance. Stablemate Miss Hellfire ($10) brings the sexy ‘7 days before’ form and ran much quicker time than the boys. Golden Artie ($23) can be included in multiples. SELECTIONS:

9 Coolangatta, 11 Russian Conquest, 12 Miss Hellfire

RACE 8 MAGIC MILLIONS 3YO GUINEAS (1400M)

Rhapsody Rose ($26) went out $2.40 in the Gold Edition but was the first horse beaten. She’s much better than that and we can be forgiving at Eagle Farm. Has since jumped out well behind Isotope and Totally Charmed. Far Too Easy ($19) from same race is also a hope. I Am Lethal ($7) will be out the back, but hitting the line hard. Starman ($8) beat up on lesser rivals last week, but did it with plenty up the sleeve. Me Me Lagarde ($13) was superb at Eagle Farm and is going to relish 1400m. Tough ask for Jamaea ($5) first up and not certain about King Of Sparta ($6) at 1400m.

RACE 9 MAGIC MILLIONS OPEN QLTY HCP (1300M)

Miami Fleiss ($2.80) is getting short enough now. She’s entitled to be favourite coming off a forgive run in the wet and good win prior. But she needs to find a bit of luck from this draw and thinking that could leave her vulnerable. Lindsay Gough has taken over Dr Why Not’s ($9.50) training and clearly has the horse flying. Won very well in the wet last time and on old form, there’s no issue on the dry. He gets every chance off the good draw here. Lady Banff ($10) was gunned down late by an in form mare last week. Don’t think this is going to be too much harder and she’s quite capable of giving a big sight.

SELECTIONS:

8 Dr Why Not, 13 Lady Banff, 4 Miami Fleiss
