COVID CASES IN EVER Y COAST AGED CARE FACILITY
ONLY six of 34 aged care homes on the
Gold Coast have not had Covid sweep through their facilities – which shows how the virus has caused a crisis for nursing homes.
A Bulletin deep dive into the federal database shows some concerning trends on the impact of the virus on the aged care sector, with a large number of facilities based in the region.
Of the six deaths recorded on the Coast, three occurred in one facility, at Arcare Parkwood.
In the worst figures for staffing cases, some facilities have had around 28 employees off on Covid leave as 50 people in a facility are ill from the virus. Here is the full list:
