She has also just finished shooting a film in New Jersey called Sparkle. “So many doors have opened and opportunities for more films are being presented all the time, which is wonderful. I’m still under contract to The Outpost and I’ll find out in March/april if we are doing a fifth season.”

BLE that after overseeing the logistics and auctions at last Sunday’s The Event, Ray White Surfers Paradise’s Andrew Bell (above) would have a sore throat and feel a teensy bit tired.

“It was a massive undertaking, which we started work on last July,” he said. “There were 102 properties on the block, 25 sold beforehand, with $68m in total sales and in a good result for everyone, 81 per cent of the properties were sold. Many went way over the reserve which is always pleasing, but the most surprising thing is that more than half of the properties were sold to locals.”

Considering he has been selling real estate for more years than he cares to remember, how does he stay motivated?

“There’s nothing quite like achieving a great result for a client because it can change lives. Also, I love the Gold Coast and we got some great media coverage around Australia, which helps to put our city in a favourable light.

“Finally, it is seeing members of the team grow over the years that is so rewarding. Not all auctions are as great as this one, so we, as a team, are going to enjoy it and then get back to work. I’ll go out to dinner tonight and maybe have a relaxing drink,” he laughed.
