Rory the big story as he chases more glory

Rory Mcilroy is the deserved favourite for this week’s Dubai Desert Classic as he eyes off a third title at the event. The Northern Irishman won the event in 2009 and 2015 and has been a regular in the top 10 ever since. He finished strongly in Abu Dhabi last week, which should give him confidence against main rivals Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa. Adam Scott is Australia’s best hope, and he only has to look at countryman Lucas Herbert for inspiration after he won in Dubai back in 2020 for a massive payday.
