Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin

Helensvale v Alb. Ormeau

-

FOR the neutral, fourth grade remains the most intriguing top four race in Coast cricket. The top four sides are all separated by just four points, with an eight-point buffer to fifth. Alberton Ormeau’s top four rivals all face teams ranked ninth or lower this weekend, however they have a much trickier match-up with Helensvale at Brockman Oval.

Just nine runs separated these two teams when they last met in Round 4. Alberton got the chocolates on that day, but Helensvale has three wins on the trot and its finals future to play for. This one should be a doozey.

KEY WICKET: Craig Robinson (Helensvale) The onus is on Helensvale to attack this game, and few bats in fourth grade can do so like Robinson. He topscored with 75 when these teams last met and Helensvale will need much of the same if it’s to get past Coomera. He didn’t play last week, so here’s hoping he’s available.

KEY STAT: 4/24. Helensvale’s run chase in Round 4 started poorly, yet they still got within nine of victory. They didn’t lose a wicket in the chase last weekend – more of that, please.
