Bull Sharks on big stage

FORMER BOND University Bull Sharks forward Casidhe Simmons made her AFLW debut for the GWS Giants against the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.

Simmons, 26, first picked up a footy in 2020 when she was convinced by fellow heptathlete Taylor Smith to give the Sherrin a go, and she hasn’t looked back.

Simmons was taken with pick No.60 in the 2021 AFLW National Draft, and joins a laundry list of current and former Bull Sharks as an AFLW player.

She is the second Bull Sharks graduate to debut in recent weeks, after Imogen Barnett got her AFLW start for Collingwood against St Kilda in Round 2.

Barnett, 26, played for the Bull Sharks in 2015-16.

In a breakout 2021 season the key forward won the VFLW leading goalkicker and Collingwood’s best and fairest.
