The top six sides s on the ladder will spend the next three weeks virtually playing each other, with Palm Beach Currumbin and Runaway Bay facing particular­ly tough roads ahead.

Mudgeeraba (80 points) currently leads the competitio­n ahead of PBC (76 points), Surfers Paradise (76 points), Runaway Bay (68 points), Helensvale (64 points) and Burleigh (60 points).

A win gives teams eight points while none are distribute­d for byes.

With 24 points up for grabs in the final three rounds of regular competitio­n it means the race to make the top four is still wide open.

In the Queensland Premier Cricket first grade competitio­n the Gold Coast Dolphins are in the box-seat going into day two of its Round 17 clash with Valley at Bill Pippen Oval. Max Bryant’s 124 runs helped guide the Dolphins to 8/329 declared while Valley are currently 0/36. Michael Neser has returned from Ashes duties to play for Gold Coast.
