No Djoke as Med seizes No.1 ranking
SAT-SUN-MON, FROM 12AM
It’s a big weekend on the ATP Tour, with top players battling it out on both sides of the Atlantic. In Dubai, Serbia’s Novak Djokovic - fresh from his Australian Open controversy - returned to the court, only to be sent packing by Czech qualifier Jiri Vesely in the quarter-finals. This means his Russian rival Daniil Medvedev will ascend to pole position in the men’s rankings on Monday. Medvedev is still alive in the event in Acapulco, where his chances firmed after world No.3 Alexander Zverev was booted out for umpire abuse.
