Who nose how it happened

A TRADIE who ran off the road, hitting trees and causing $7000 damage to his car and work tools, was three times the legal blood-alcohol limit, a court has heard.

But he blamed the prang on an untimely sneeze.

Kyle James Heddle crashed his car on Worongary Road in Tallai on December 14 last year.

The Southport Magistrate Court was told on Wednesday that Heddle’s car drifted into the wrong lane and hit a drain and several trees. Heddle suffered bruises and a scratch to his head.

The 24-year-old took a blood test two hours after the incident at the hospital. It was 0.154. The legal limit is 0.05.

The court was told Heddle had six beers or wines with friends.

Magistrate John Mcinnes fined Heddle $1000 and suspended him from driving for six months.
