IT sometimes takes a neon superstar to remind us that our dreams are worth fighting for, that gutsy moves can push through the mental whiplash we experience.

Sometimes we just need to dig beyond the shallows of our discomfort.

Meet Skye Haddy. You might remember her from the TV show Ninja Warrior. She may be small but she’s mighty.

“I’m forever an acrobat and I’ve been coaching since I was 12 years old. I absolutely love sharing my passion with others,” she said.

“Being active is what I love to do and, yeah, I love a good challenge. To me, Ninja Warrior is like the ultimate challenge because you really don’t know what you are in for.

“Getting out of your comfort zone is all part of it, for sure, and it is pretty fun to do what most people can’t.

“It is so important to find something active to do that you love because it has to be enjoyable or we just won’t stick at it.

“My dreams? I think I have always wanted to inspire as many people as I can to break away from that ‘normal path’ if that is what they need.

“For example, when I was at

school I was always told I should go to university.

“I was asked what I wanted to do for a career. I was like, ‘I don’t know. I just want to flip!’

“I wanted to join the circus and after the laughter stopped they were like, ‘OK now, what do you really want to do?’

“It is so important to believe in what you want to do and just go

for it. Prepare yourself mentally and physically and then just go for it and have fun.

“The whole Ninja experience was just amazing, a wonderful time of my life.

“You haven’t seen the last of me yet though. There is still so much more fight in me.”
