TOM, PERRY AND THE STAR CROSS JOURNEY

IT’S The Tom and Perry Show.

Bad pun aside, Tom Ray and Perry Cross’s paths first crossed when they were in different years at TSS.

Now they are the headline acts of the Perry Cross Research Foundation with a shared dream – to cure paralysis.

Tom is the chairman, Perry (pictured with Shelley Craft) the inspirational driving force and together they were the stars at Saturday night’s Everything is Possible Gala Ball at The Star.

“I was a bit ner- vous at first about the ball,” said Tom. “Originally, we planned on doing one every two years and now it is every year. “With Covid and all the problems the Gold Coast has endured I wondered about numbers and fundraising. However, this city always comes through and digs deep to help.

“I asked Perry what he wanted to achieve all those years ago and he said to cure paralysis and to be honest, at the time, I thought there was no hope. Now we are so close to finding a cure.

“South-east Queensland is a world leader in the research and to borrow from Neil Armstrong it will be so much more than one small step. Perry’s drive, humanity and focus inspires everyone and when the cure is found he will have been the catalyst for changing so many lives around the world.”
