TERASA LIVINGSTONE: FROM LOSING AGRO TO LA LOVE AND SUCCESS

-

FOR Terasa Livingstone, being the sidekick to Jamie Dunn’s Agro on television was the best possible masterclass in comedic timing and delivery.

Now back home with family and friends after a long Covid-enforced separation in Los Angeles, the vivacious Terasa spoke fondly of her time on the show.

“It was the best fun. I joined Cartoon Connection in 1990 and worked with the quickest wits in the business – TV hosting 101.”

After Agro she moved on to host The Great Outdoors, then to New York and LA. “Initially, I decided just to give it a go, do something different, head over to study theatre and see if I could get some acting work.

“Just about the time I was about to head home, I met my husband, Aussie actor Wil Traval. His career started taking off so we decided to stay for a bit longer.

“It’s been an amazing adventure, although the past two years have been truly awful for so many in the industry.”

Not one to sit about, Terasa has been involved in other television hosting projects. “I came back to host It Takes Two on Seven for a bit. I really enjoy producing my @extraordinairespodcast and YouTube channel, which allows me to do what I love and connect with people.

“During the Aussie bush fires Hugh Sheridan and I organised a fundraising concert where INXS played. When BLM riots came right to our doorstep in LA, I was out and about sending reports back to Sunrise on 7.”

Now she is back home and admits to tearing up on occasions. Crying?

“Nostalgia I guess, just watching these flocks of rosellas and galahs makes me tear up,” she laughed.

“My parents – John and Lynne – gave us the perfect upbringing. Horses on acreage in Nerang, back when it was just bush, riding our BMX around the dirt, going to St Hilda’s. We just had the most idyllic childhood. Everything here is so beautiful and I’ve missed it all so much.”

Terasa is in talks with producers about a project that is going into production later this year. “Fingers crossed, I am hoping it’s going to be a wonderful homecoming.”

Dream big, have a go and you never know where you will end up.
