ZSA OF SILVER SCREEN AND HUSBANDS GABOR

TODAY we go back to 1991 and the first Indy Ball with that fabulous collector of husbands (and their houses), Zsa Zsa Gabor.

With her is No.9 in the collection, the suave Prince Frederick von Anhalt. As far as we know, his title was a sham, but he acted the part and loved being Mr. Zsa Zsa.

Her most famous quote about being a serial bride was, “I ema howzkeeper. Ven I get a divorce I keep da howz.”

This was taken at Royal Pines Resort early in the night. Later in the evening MC Tony Barber referred to her as a septuagenarian.

In that unmistakable accent, she asked someone at her table, “Vat did he callz me?’ When told that it meant she was over 70, she was at the stage 74, she and the Prince stormed out.

They also stormed out of the resort penthouse taking with them everything that wasn’t nailed down.

She died in 2016 at age 99 – a nonagenarian – just short of becoming a centenarian. Hopefully nobody dared to mention that inconvenient truth.
