DESPITE NASTY ATTACK, HANK’S STILL GRINNING

- MELANIE WHITING

A DOG who made an incredible recovery after a nasty attack is one of the finalists in the Gold Coast Bulletin’s cutest dog competition.

We received hundreds of nominations and it’s now time to vote for the cutest via our website.

As reported by the Bulletin, Coombabah woman Sarah Keevers had both hands badly bitten and spent four days in hospital after being attacked

by an off-leash dog at a popular beach in November.

Her english staffy named Hank (pictured) suffered cuts

to his lower back. While Ms Keevers is yet to regain

total movement of her hand, Hank has fully recovered.

“When we go for a walk people always say how cute he is and how happy he is,” she said.

“He’s got a cute personality. He’s just like a big cuddly bear.”

Other finalists include lilac border collie Ziggy from Miami, who survived parvovirus as a young pup and Edmund from Bonogin, who is deaf and vision impaired but lives life to the fullest every day.

Voting closes on Thursday, April 14 at 9am.

The dog with the most votes will be announced the winner shortly after and get a professional photo shoot, plus their photo in the Bulletin.
