EVERYONE HAS A COW, MAN

-

RECEIVED a call from Tom Ray (pictured with wife Megan) this week with an update on one of the more unique auction prizes from the Perry Cross Everything Is Possible gala ball last month.

The (medium) rare lot going under the hammer was one very large wagyu cow donated by the Curr family.

“At first we weren’t sure what to do with it,” Tom said. “So we split it into four lots of 100kg of wagy beef to becom t h world’ bigges meat tray auction. It raised $27,000 on the night with David Fitch bidding $10,000 for his lot. David then told me to donate it to a worthy cause.

“Given the terrible situation in the Northern Rivers, I rang the top cop down there and he suggested giving it to a local Aboriginal community who have lost everything.

“It took a bit of organising to get the beef from Warwick, but the ‘ meat tray’ was delivered for a big community barbecue thanks to the generosity of our supporters.”

One cow, multiple beneficiaries.
