SINGING CHEF SERVES UP A WINNING COMBO
FAMOUS singing chef David De Vito is putting his talent to good use with a new show.
The Gold Coast tenor, who was a finalist on Australia’s Got Talent in 2011, has been booking out lunchtime shows at Nicolinis Italian restaurant in Surfers Paradise.
Owner Helen Taylor said she jumped at the opportunity for the singing chef to regularly perform after one of her customers suggested it.
“It’s something really exciting in Surfers Paradise that is geared towards families, rather than the younger party atmosphere,” she said.
“As a business, we wanted to reach out to the locals and get them travelling back into Surfers.
“It’s just been such a success. We’ve had so many people walking past that have stopped to listen.”
