Smashing records

-

THE Gold Coast’s prestige market continues to fire with a $6.335m mega deal smashing the suburb record for Benowa.

The house, known as the Lakehouse, was inspired by the glamorous grandeur of Los Angeles mega-mansions and sold well before its scheduled auction to a Brisbane buyer.

Vendors Martin and Dina Kenins, who operate as Kenins Developments, are behind the ultra modern two-level design.

“As soon as we stepped on to the vacant block you could see the potential with wide water views and views to the hinterland,” Mr Kenins said. “I am a hands-on builder and a perfectionist, so what we built had to be absolutely perfect.”

Experts agree with the home winning several awards.

Kollosche agent Jamie Harrison said the Lakehouse had multiple offers.

“We had 15 qualified groups through the first private inspection, and they were all blown away by the architecture, the standard of the craftsmanship and the location overlooking the lake.”

The mega sale trumped the $4.875m achieved last December for a main river mansion at 151 Sir Bruce Small Boulevard.
