CAPTURING THE VERY BEST OF LIFE

- ANNE JANELLE DICKMAN

MEET Katie Jones. You will likely find her behind the camera at sunrise on one of our gorgeous beaches.

After a short time in her company, we discovered she’s unapologetically herself and full of life and colour:

“I moved to the GC when I was 12 and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.

“Aren’t our beaches just incredible?

“A friend and I started up @igersgoldco ast and it’s become a thriving community of like-minded photographers who love capturing images.

“We meet regularly and I love that it takes the loneliness out of photography for people.

“I am now in my fifties. However, 50 isn’t what it used to be.

“What does a certain age look like anyway?

“I found myself divorced at 46 and grateful for amazing friends and family.

“I think after losing myself for a

while during those mum years, I just needed to find out who I was.

“I wanted to be an authentic version of myself and I questioned my own happiness.

“Life is just too short not to be happy.

“I have had some horrible experiences since.

“Yes, I am pretty vocal about it, but I have a passion for writing as

well as photography.

“I’ve gained more courage to be open and express my thoughts.

“Writing is such a creative outlet but it’s the dream I never followed.

“It’s so important to find those things that give you joy.”
