PAMPERING HITS A GRAPE NEW LEVEL AT VINEYARD

- JESSICA GALLETLY

ADELAIDE Hills tourists can relax even more at their next wine tasting, with the opening of South Australia’s first cellar door day spa.

Longview Vineyard in Macclesfield has added the pamper station to its picturesque site, which also includes a cellar door restaurant and boutique accommodation.

The day spa could even be the only one in Australia to be set in a single vineyard setting, says managing director Peter Saturno.

“Just as you relax before or after the treatment, you’re overlooking our vineyard – the proximity is a few metres away,” he said. “It just adds to the experience of coming to Longview.”

Mr Saturno said the familyowned business took a hit as a result of border closures in the past 12 months, but “there’s a lot more energy out there now, which is really exciting.”

“There's more movement between states,” he said.

While other day spas exist in wine regions across SA, such as Endota Spa at Novotel Barossa Valley Resort, this is the first within an owneroperated vineyard and cellar door setting.
