Titanic ‘heartbreak’ for radio host

-

ONE of Queensland’s most prominent couples has split. Courtney Thorpe has confirmed the end of her two-year marriage to Gold Coast Titans prop Jarrod Wallace in what she described as the “biggest heartbreak” of her life.

The presenter and former Miss World Australia separated from Wallace last September before attempting to reconcile for the sake of their daughter Kennedy, two, as well as Wallace’s two daughters from a previous relationship, Lara and Peyton.

They were unable to save their marriage and Thorpe confirmed the news publicly as she returned to work this week, joining Hot Tomato radio station on the Gold Coast.

“Our marriage ended in September. I did fight to save it for a few months after that but it has been completely over for a while now,” Thorpe said. “For the sake of the three girls I won’t ever go into all the nitty gritty details publicly but there are certain parts I will talk about further, in my own way, shortly.

“I am focusing on being the best mother for my daughter as my top priority, I am studying full-time, have my very own podcast coming out soon and I have started working again, all of which I am so excited about.

“The old Courtney is coming back. It was the biggest heartbreak of my life, but I’m feeling better every day and excited for what’s ahead for my little girl and I.”

Wallace, a former Queensland State of Origin representative, and Thorpe began dating in 2017 and tied the knot two years later. In August 2019 the couple’s daughter, Kennedy, was born six weeks premature.
