CARRARA MANSION BREAKS RECORD
A CARRARA mansion with a separate entertainment pavilion and disco has smashed the suburb’s house price record, selling for $13m.
The award-winning home at 640 Nerang Broadbeach Rd bettered the old mark by $1m.
Prestige agent Michael Kollosche said the property sold to an interstate buyer who planned to relocate.
“The ultimate buyer was in competition with another local buyer and an expat which drove the sale price to be above listed price,” he said.
He said it was a great result for Carrara. “This suburb remains something of a hidden gem,” he said.
“Beautiful homes on large riverfront blocks offer acreage-style living in an inner-city location.”
Mr Kollosche said he had not seen any signs of a market slowdown.
“We are on track to have our largest month ever, in terms of the number of sales and total sales volume.”
Vendors Dennis and his wife Angela were behind the sprawling property – building their dream house on the 3860sq m riverfront block.
The ultimate draw is the recreation area. Overlooking the champion-size tennis court, the entertaining precinct has a bar, kitchen, bathroom, wine cellar, pool table, sitting area, three TVS, a poker table, high bar, and features full disco lights.
Designed by Jared Poole and built by Koryzma Constructions, the house has won several Master Builder awards.
The previous highest price for a house in Carrara was $12m for 8-12 Riverbend Ave.
