What time do you wake up on a Saturday? Early. Husband Corey Parker and I have kids – Memphis, 11, Wylei, 10, Jagger, 7, and River, 6 – who play sport so logistically to get them all where they need to be means an early rise. It’s like an army regiment at our place.

Where and when do you exercise?

When I can make time to prioritise fitness, I see Katie Martin at KFIT in New Farm for a weight session. She’s great at reminding me that not only is exercise about physical appearance and fitness, it’s about mental health and there’s nothing like a good sweat session to clear the mind. Louise and the team at Studio Pilates, Mt Gravatt, always have their doors open and, as I’m getting older and the body more fragile, low impact exercise has become a bit of a go-to for me.

What’s your go-to weekend breakfast? Wylei fancies himself as a bit of a cook, so he loves to whip up bacon and eggs and sometimes we make some delicious pancakes as a treat.

Best place to go with kids? My kids are loving wakeboarding at the moment and fortunately for us we have Bayside Wake Park just down the road at Carbrook. It’s suitable for all ages and caters to the needs of all levels of experience. It’s licensed so you can watch the kids and the sunset over the lake while having a cheeky beverage.

Favourite park? We love the Mount Cotton Community Park off Valley Way, Mount Cotton. It has a great water play area, playground, flying fox, a dam where the kids love feeding the ducks, dog park and skate park. Something to suit everyone.

Best place to go with dogs? We are fortunate enough to live on acreage so our poodles Andy and Buddy have plenty of space to run around, but if we do take them out they love the dog-friendly beaches around Southport and The Spit.

Local coffee haunt? St Coco Cafe at Daisy Hill is a fave, along with The Foxy Coffee, and Park Lane Barista, both at Loganholme.

Favourite takeaway? Thai Orchid at Springwood. Coconut prawns, satay sticks, salt & pepper calamari, sweet pumpkin curry, red duck curry and the orchid bloom cocktail are a must.

Best spot for date night? Black Hide at Treasury.

Favourite place to holiday or hidden treasure in Queensland? We love the Scenic Rim region, in particular Lake Moogerah. We stay at Camp Moogerah. Barry the owner is so friendly and welcoming. Barry becomes your new best friend, always ensuring everyone has everything they need and is having a good time. It’s heaven.

What’s your perfect Saturday?

Sleeping in! Basically, at home with the kids playing in the yard, swimming in the pool and a few families over for an afternoon barbecue.
