Zaaki back in Qld for more winter success

Multiple Group 1 star Zaaki established himself during last year’s Queensland winter carnival and returns for a tworace raid, starting with his defence of the Hollindale Stakes (1800m) at Gold Coast. Ayrton, meanwhile, missed out on a Stradbroke Handicap run last year after experiencing defeat for the first time in the Group 3 Fred Best Classic. He scored a consolation win in the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic on Stradbroke day. Zaaki is an odds-on favourite, with Ayrton and French import Huetor the only other runners in single figures.
