Derby biggest yet
GOLD Coast United rising star Zahi Addis says Saturday’s highly-anticipated NPL Queensland derby against Gold Coast Knights is the most important in the two clubs’ modern rivalry.
The 18-year-old fullback said the ladder positions of both Knights and United entering the clash at the Croatian Sports Centre at Carrara added further interest to the derby.
Both United and Knights are coming off massive midweek victories and are applying pressure to the NPLQ top four, with a win here not only crucial in keeping pace with the leaders but also knocking a fellow contender down a rung.
“The ramifications of this game are massive,” he said.
“That’s something both teams will be looking to achieve and probably why this game is the biggest (derby so far).”
