MEET THE CANDIDATES
Candidate: Nathan O’brien Electorate: Fadden
Party: United Australia Party What suburb do you live in?
Coomera.
Why are you running?
The very soul of our nation is under attack. I want to hand my children a free and democratic country. I love our country and our people. We are a resource rich nation and I believe our most valuable resource is our people. Our government has sold us out and lied to us.
What political experience do you have?
I have no formal political experience, but have been exposed to our political processes from time-to-time. The last thing Fadden needs right now is another politician.
Outside politics, what life and work experience do you have?
I am blessed to have worked with and have been mentored by some of Australia’s foremost thought leaders. I’ve always been in the “people” business, having served in franchising, real estate and logistics.
What, in your opinion, is the No.1 issue facing voters in your electorate?
The rising cost of living. Liberal and Labor have run-up over $1 trillion debt (for our health). We don’t have a climate emergency, we have an economic crisis and it’s on our shores.
If elected, what will be your priority when you enter the new parliament?
1. Introduce a Bill of Rights to protect our freedom and end mandates;
2. Cap home loan rates below 3 per cent for five years; 3. Introduce a 15 per cent export licence on all iron ore to ensure our trading partners retire our debt, not Australians; 4. Abolish HECS debt and increase the aged pension by $180 per fortnight; 5. Provide $40bn additional funding for hospitals and healthcare across Australia.
