Siemsen back to Boom times

-

BRIAN Siemsen didn’t care which way the famous “Boom” quinella fell in the 2014 Doomben 10,000 as he had a major share in both horses but there will only be one horse he is cheering for eight years on as he looks to nab the first Group 1 victory under his successful bloodstock brand.

The epic race, which saw Spirit Of Boom, Temple Of Boom and Buffering fight out the finish gave Siemsen the racing bug, which he eventually turned

Black Soil Bloodstock – one of Queensland’s powerhouse forces.

Siemse has his gun mare Isotope looking to replicate what Spirit

Boom did for trainer Tony Gollan all those years ago in the race, as she continues her incredible return from a neardeath colic attack.

“I was the second-largest shareholder in Temple and the largest in Spirit so I didn’t mind which way it fell, Tony did because he had the largest in Temple,” Siemsen laughed.

“There was some good banter that night. A couple of weeks before the 10,000 we went one-two in the Victory Stakes with Temple Of Boom and Spirit Of Boom. I thought we were in for a pretty special carnival after that race.”
