- MELANIE WHITING

A SURFERS Paradise steakhouse has gone into liquidation months after the restaurant shut its doors.

Black Angus Bar and Grill Restaurant was listed as “in liquidation” on Thursday, according to a notice published on the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) website.

A general meeting of Good Home Products Pty Ltd – trading as Black Angus Bar and Grill Restaurant – was held on Thursday. It was decided the company be wound up, with Nick Combis appointed liquidator.

In September, the Bulletin reported Black Angus had closed its doors less than two years after it relocated to Surfers Paradise, taking over the space occupied by Hooters.

It was previously located in Sanctuary Cove.

The reason for the closure was unclear – although Surfers has been devastated by a downturn in tourism due to Covid-19.

Shiraz Persian Restaurant and Bar took over the 2893 Gold Coast Highway site in October.
