RUBY, SHE’S GOT THE LOTT

-

IS it just us or is the level of confidence and talent in our young folk increasing exponentially?

Take the e case of young g actress Ruby y Lott who, at 16, , has already y starred in 17 – count them – films, TV V shows or web b projects.

For Ruby, the number barely registers as each one is simply another marker along what she hopes will be a long l and successful career. “Acting is something I’ve I always wanted to do,” she explained. “I started when I was seven with a role in Pied Piper at Spotlight Theatre and loved everything t about the process. “Mum could see it was what I wanted, got me an agent and put my name up on casting sites and I started to get parts.

“I’ve worked with Peter Koevari a few times and he has been a wonderful mentor and adviser. There are four films that are yet to be released but the Gold Coast Film Festival just gave Diana, in which I am one of the leads, the award for Best Web Film Series. It’s a scifi story and I had to play someone in their 20s so I got to see what I’ll look like in a few years,” she laughed.

Ruby is still at school and is thankful that her teachers are working with her to ensure her education continues if she is away on a shoot.

“I am aware that it can be a tough business, you have to audition, network and keep your ear to the ground for work but so far I have been very fortunate. It is my dream and I’m working hard to make it happen.”

Remember the name.
