AUSSIES A HIT FOR PUNTERS

-

PUNTERS will be all over the start of the T20 World Cup, with the main section of the tournament finally getting under way with a Trans-tasman replay of last year’s final.

ICC T20 WORLD CUP Australia: $1.43 New Zealand: $2.76

AUSSIES LOOK GOOD

NEW Zealand should still be shattered from losing in the world cup final last year and will likely have some doubts about playing Australia again this weekend.

The usual stars for the Aussies weren’t even the shining light in the world cup finals last year, which really showed off the depth of their squad.

With Mitchell Starc in form (he usually lifts in big moments) and New Zealand needing time to build into this tournament away from home, despite a few pretournament hiccups, Australia looks like a great head-to-head bet ($1.43) or addition to a multi.

FINCH: THE BAROMETER

AARON Finch has been Australia’s most talked-about player over the last few years, struggling to make consistent runs as many believe he’s simply in the side as he’s proven to be a solid, smart captain.

Though out of form this year, Finch has hit a purple

patch, with innings of 76 and 44 in two lead-up games to this World Cup and we’ve seen him lift for the big tournaments before.

After all, in last year’s World Cup Finch had four matches where he scored 40 or more: Australia won three of them.

If he can do the same this time around, the Aussies can win this match and even go all the way.

OPENING VALUE

AUSTRALIA has had the highest opening partnership in its past two games.

And with Finch back in some form, his confidence should be up to help lead his side in this category once again.

David Warner is likely to be the other Aussie opener.

He’s made 40 or more runs the last two times these sides have met in T20 and

loves to play against the Black Caps.

Look for the Aussie openers to provide some great value with the highest opening partnership at $1.79. THE PICK: Australia H2H - $1.43
