THE QUADDIE

-

RACE 4 – Benchmark 65 Handicap (2000m)

Bold Contender should be ready to win here out to the 2000m distance and drops 6kg on his last-start fourth at Ballina. Raging Pole is no stranger to the synthetic surface, yet to miss a placing from three attempts and looks to be the main danger.

Sequin Dress is third-up fit and has chalked-up two wins on heavy going so the poly track may be to her liking. Elizano is on the quick back-up and could show-up getting out to a longer trip here.

SELECTIONS: 3 Bold Contender, 2 Raging Pole, 5 Sequin Dress, 1 Elizano

RACE 5 – Maiden Plate (1540m)

Caoimhe was not beaten far when resuming at Ipswich and should be hard to defeat with the experience of a synthetic track run last campaign. Golden Honour was far from disgraced second-up from a spell at Wyong and can threaten if he handles the new surface.

Lady Chartwell drops 4kg on her last-start third placing at Taree and should be just about ready to break her maiden status. Is That You Ethel is the likely leader and could be in it for a long way dropping back in distance.

SELECTIONS: 7 Caoimhe, 6 Golden Honour, 11 Lady Chartwell, 8 Is That You Ethel

RACE 6 – Benchmark 62 Handicap (1100m)

Your Too Good placed at Doomben resuming before copping a wide run last start and can bounce back with the blinkers back on. Gee Bee Ess is flying and should not be discounted coming off a victory at Aquis Beaudesert. Emmy Regina has two first-up placings to her name, a victory on the synthetic and could get into the money at each-way odds. Simply Venus is having her first Queensland start and did run second to Passive Aggressive on debut, albeit beaten six lengths.

SELECTIONS: 2 Your Too Good, 1 Gee Bee Ess, 5 Emmy Regina, 8 Simply Venus

RACE 7 – Benchmark 65 Handicap (1900m)

Grinzinger Knight led all the way for a dominant victory at Ipswich last start and looks the likely leader here. Should prove tough to get past if he can get his own way in front. Tarex is the main danger after running well in superior company, including a solid second placing last start when not suited by the slow speed. Vivenzo is third-up fit and is another that should take a forward position but does have a wide draw. Roaring Thunder is looking for a hat-trick and did win his only start over 1900m.

SELECTIONS: 4 Grinzinger Knight, 1 Tarex, 8 Vivenzo, 3 Roaring Thunder
