The so-called war on drugs in the US and the fight against drugs by Australian authorities have demonstrated that drugs are not going to be removed from the streets soon, if ever. With the dangerous ingredients in many of these drugs, pill-testing is an obvious tool to save young lives. If testing saves even one young life, it will be worth it. Callous people might suggest young people who take drugs do not deserve to be saved. There is so much pressure from dealers and peers that even otherwise sensible young people can fall victim.
