RACE 4 Maiden Hcp 1540m

Honestyandloyalty was more than OK first-up at the Sunshine Coast and did his best work late over the 1350m.

The rise to 1540m today looks ideal. He has been placed in his two attempts on the synthetic surface.

Tosen Dreamer has steady NSW form, but he’s from a good stable and gets the whizz kid Bailey Wheeler on today. Rock War had a tough trip at Eagle Farm last start, his run prior at that venue would go close in this. In Close Reach continues to race well here but just can’t seem to put them away.

SELECTIONS:

1 Honestyandloyalty, 3 Tosen Dreamer, 5 Rock War, 6 In Close Reach.

RACE 5 Class 2 Hcp 1540m

Dickensian was an easy winner here two runs ago. He since failed in a strong Metro race but pulled up with a poor recovery, so happy to forgive that run. If he bounces back to his best, he’s the one to beat.

Triple Citizen might be ready after two runs this time in. He was successful last preparation third-up and strikes this race off very similar lead-up form. Foxy Baroness is another runner from the Kris Lees stable heading north today with NSW form. I query the depth of the last start but the run contained merit and she too should be ready now third-up.

Danerock has mixed his form since winning here four runs ago.

SELECTIONS: 1 Dickensian, 2 Triple Citizen, 3 Foxy Baroness, 6 Danerock.

RACE 6 Benchmark 58 Hcp 1540m

I think Damreel is coming along well for a race like this. He was good here over the unsuitable 1050m off a break, up to 1200m next time he boxed on well after leading. 1540m looks ideal at his third run in.

Bambalam has been holding his form consistently this preparation. He comes off a stronger race than this at Ipswich last start where he ran into a smart type.

La Fusee won a modest race last start but he did run well on this surface first-up and he looks to have turned this corner since joining the Thornton stable. Agent of Mayhem might need another run.

SELECTIONS: 8 Damreel, 6 Bambalam, 5 La Fusee, 3 Agent of Mayhem.

RACE 7 Benchmark 62 Hcp 1200m

This looks a high-pressure race with a number of on-speed runners. I’m selecting Zumikon here to sit off them and hopefully swoop late. He looks well graded here off a soft trial recently at Doomben.

The Lindsay Gough stable is having a good run at the moment. Facetious is low flying this prep and clearly the one to beat again, this is harder though.

Dusky Dancer needs to run 1200m right out today but the I Am Azzurro form is very strong for this grade. The Kendrick pair of Vetta Velocita and Win Burn would not surprise. They both get a little class drops into this.

SELECTIONS: 1 Zumikon, 6 Facetious, 2 Dusky Dancer, 4 Vetta Velocita.
