RACE 4 - R MARINE CRAWLEY MAIDEN HCP 1540M Crusader Razor

ran a much better race here at this trip last time out. He’s probably looking for further now, but this isn’t a strong maiden. His stablemate Hatasu was good first-up at Doomben but poor last time at Eagle Farm. If you can forgive that she’s the one to beat. Elle Magic jumps back up in trip again after finding the line over 1150m last week. She did fail in two 1400m races prior but they were tougher maidens than this. Majestic Angel was much improved first-up and looks a place hope.

SELECTIONS: 1. Crusader Razor, 2. Hatasu, 4. Elle Magic, 3. Majestic Angel.

RACE 5 - RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES SEQ BM58 HCP 1540M

Bie’res is racing in good form of late. Back-to-back wins at this distance before running 2nd in Toowoomba over the mile last start. He should get a nice run from barrier 4 and Emily Lang’s claim is a nice bonus. Skater got the better of Bie’res last time out but the synthetic 1540m might just suit my top selection better. Singular and Italian Award both have to jump from maiden wins last start to bm 58 grade, but they have ticked the poly 1540m win box. Metal Rock can patch his form up, but his best is good enough.

SELECTIONS: 5. Bie’res, 2. Skater, 6. Singular, 9. Italian Award.

RACE 6- 5POINT PROJECTS MAIDEN HCP 1100M Decisively would almost be a good thing if this was 1200m, but I still think she will be awfully hard to beat at today’s distance. She kept chasing from a midfield position to run 2nd over 1050m here two weeks ago. Barrier 1 should give her every chance to break through. Minto’s Power had no easy lead in the same race and boxed away gamely for 3rd. Pressure is the key to his chances. Energized keeps missing the start which is not ideal, but he’s run on okay after that his past couple. Southampton Dock is a market watch.

SELECTIONS: 2. Decisively, 7. Minto’s Power, 6. Energized, 4. Southampton Rock.

RACE 7- DOVAL CONSTRUCTION GROUP BENCHMARK 55 HCP 1050M

My Dog Diesel and Freeland meet again here after they traded blows here two weeks ago. My Dog Diesel held out Freeland in a narrow photo finish, only for the result to be overturned in the steward’s room. Obviously, there was little in it last time and I doubt there’s much between them again. Fullham creates interest, a 6yo that has just had the one start for a win at this track and trip. She had a nice hit out on Tuesday at the trials. Just Looking is not hopeless back to this grade. SELECTIONS: 2. Freeland, 1. My Dog Diesel, 5. Fullham, 6. Just Looking.
