What time do you wake up on a Saturday?

7.30am to 9.30am. The time depends on if I’ve been out or had a gig on the Friday night.

Local coffee haunt?

Sisco Cafe (Spring Hill) is a great place for foodies and I love how it has the homey energy of a Queenslander so close to the CBD. Also they seem to recognise me when I come in and I’ve seen enough sitcoms of people in their 20s to feel a thrill every time I experience this interaction.

Favourite restaurant?

From their flavoursome banquets to incredible toasties, Naïm (Paddington) is forever and always top tier. Raising a hibiscus tea to you.

Favourite takeaway?

Cheeky Poke Bar bowl – my mother was an early childhood teacher so I simply can’t get away from the autonomy of a “choose your own adventure” meal!

Where and when do you exercise?

I’m a pretty regular gym gal and always look forward to a weekly trek up Mt Coot-tha. I love to branch out with friends to other trails on the weekends but there’s nothing like a solo hike to the summit soundtracked by your own chaotic mix of unrelated tunes.

Favourite pub/bar to catch up with friends?

If I’m feeling like a singalong or some casual jazz, Doo-bop Bar (CBD). But if the catch-up requires a thesis-level breakdown of our mishaps and mischief of the last few months, Alba on Burnett Lane provides impeccable wine and cheese.

Best place to meet people?

Roma Street Parklands. It’s beautiful for catch-ups when you need a bit of nature, calming ambience and acknowledge that you have probably spent your limit of “fun money” for the week.

Best hidden treasure in Queensland?

The truest definition of hidden treasure to me would be the Bonappetea Teahouse. Hidden in an old cottage in Mudgeeraba, it’s the perfect place to indulge your inner child if you were a tea party kid like me.

Favourite place to holiday in Queensland?

I have been visiting family in Coolum since I was born and honestly think it’s the best beach in the southeast. But I can’t go past a little Airbnb getaway around Springbrook, Lamington and all the beautiful rainforests in Yugambeh Country.

What’s your idea of the perfect Saturday?

A short hike followed by grabbing some “freshy prod” (fresh produce, but the lingo will catch on) at the markets and a spot of op shopping with a mate. Then pats with my child — the family dog I don’t live with anymore — and either enjoying live music overlooking our beautiful brown snake or a show at genuinely the greatest venue, The Powerhouse.
