THE QUADDIE
RACE 4 - THE BOTTLE-O MAIDEN HCP 1540M
Nails And Pride should improve off the first-up run here on March 23. He was no match for Sierra De Grados, but it was an encouraging effort at his first run in the area. He will just need some luck from the outside draw early. Irene’s Best is over a month between runs with a stable change to Gary Doughty. The NSW form albeit patchy reads pretty good for a race of this depth. Anotherlovelyday has had a few chances to win a maiden on the Poly but she’s consistent and will be somewhere in the finish again. Pig In The City is best knockout hope. SELECTIONS: 1. Nails And Pride, 4. Irene’s Best, 8. Anotherlovelyday, 7. Pig In The City.
RACE 5 - CELLARBRATIONS BENCHMARK 55 HCP 1540M
Sarsen was scratched from a race last week, but connections’ patience might pay off as this looks winnable on paper. He won a stronger race than this last time and after claim looks to have beaten the handicapper. Takunai is well placed here, and he’s been going super of late. A wide run two starts back for a game 3rd before making the odds-on favourite earn it last start. He looks the big danger from the inside draw. Neoclassicism continues to race well without winning and the same can be said for Marleedoone who hasn’t tried this longer trip for close to two years. SELECTIONS: 3. Sarsen, 2. Takunai, 4. Neoclassicism, 6. Marleedoone.
RACE 6 - AUSTRALIAN LIQUOR MARKETERS BENCHMARK 58 HCP 1200M
Hydroelectric needs to go from a maiden to a BM58 in one jump which is never easy. However, he does look to have more upside than most here, after a dominant win last time out. Ma’s Epic has been close of late without winning, I just feel she may not have seen out the 1350m of her last two runs. Back to 1200m from the inside draw and a claim she looks the main danger. Price Cost is back in trip after ploughing through the mud to win at Beaudesert last start. Sheza Marvel was okay first-up at Gatton. Previous NSW form gives her chance. SELECTIONS: 4. Hydroelectric, 13. Ma’s Epic, 8. Price Cost, 6. Sheza Marvel.
RACE 7 - THIRSTY CAMEL BENCHMARK 68 HCP 1200M
The feature of the day is a great clash between some good synthetic horses. Galaxy General was back into winning form at the Sunshine Coast Poly last time. He looks well in after the claim and gets a perfect draw for him. I Am Voodoo has made a good habit of winning of late after a run of 2nd placings earlier last year. He will need some luck early from his tricky marble. Minks Star was no match for Galaxy General last start, but she gets a good weight swing today. Serigala has mixed form since big wins at this track last year, but can bounce back. Pernell is racing well without luck SELECTIONS: 1. Galaxy General, 2. I Am Voodoo, 3. Minks Star, 9. Pernell.
