Cottesloe moves well, num­ber of list­ings dips by 2 per cent

IN the four weeks to May 21 2018 there were 130 lo­cal prop­erty sales across houses, units and land which is a de­crease of 14 per cent over the four-week pe­riod. Com­pared to the same time last year, sales are lower by 12 per cent. The over­all Perth mar­ket sales have in­creased to 2182, a rise of 4 per cent over the four-week pe­riod but remains 2 per cent lower than the same time last year. Cottesloe tops the list for the high­est num­ber of sales at 17.

Prop­er­ties avail­able for sale in the lo­cal area have de­creased by 2 per cent over the last four weeks and is 2 per cent lower than the same time last year. To­tal list­ings in the Perth Metro Re­gion have re­mained sta­ble over the four-week pe­riod and is 1 per cent lower than the same time last year. The av­er­age time to sell in the lo­cal area has de­creased by 11 days to 49 days for the three months to April 2018. The av­er­age time to sell in the Perth Metro Re­gion has de­creased by four days to 67 days.

Reiwa mem­bers re­ported 288 to­tal prop­er­ties (houses and units) leased for the four-week pe­riod, an in­crease of 2 per cent over the last four weeks but is 12 per cent lower than the same time last year. List­ings in the West­ern Sub­urbs Weekly area have risen by 9 per cent in the four-week pe­riod but are 15 per cent lower than the same time last year. The over­all mar­ket has seen list­ings fall 2 per cent and are 23 per cent lower than the same time last year.

The over­all me­dian weekly rent for the lo­cal area for the three months to April 2018 is $400/week, which is $40 lower than the three months to April 2017. Sim­i­larly, the over­all me­dian rent for Perth has seen no change in the three months to April 2018. Av­er­age time to rent in the lo­cal area has de­creased to 45 days in the three months to April 2018.
