Job well done

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Opinion - Peter Hitchins, Beckenham Kevin Poynton, Mosman Park RSL president

HUGE congratulations to the RSL, the Kings Park Board, City of Perth etc for the brilliant organisation and meticulous operation of (last month’s) Remembrance Day ceremony.

It was awesome to participate.

Special thanks to the ‘valet parkers’.

As an over-80, their guidance was a blessing, as was our police assistance on departure.

Well done everyone. I WAS heading to a function at The Grove Library about 5.30pm on November 23, when I came across a traffic accident on Stirling Highway outside the Albion Hotel. A pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle heading north, and he was lying prone on the roadway.

I wish to applaud all the folk that assisted here, notably the folk from the Albion tending to the chap with their first aid gear, passers-by who were comforting the driver of the vehicle that hit the fellow, and others who were directing traffic.

Then there were the first responders, police and ambulance personnel, and a special word for the young woman who firstly comforted a European backpacker who saw the incident, and then drove the lass to the airport.
