PETER Man­war­ing will raise the stakes for WA’S first Su­per Bingo event and aim to raise $100,000 to help con­quer cys­tic fi­bro­sis (CF).

Mr Man­war­ing and his fam­ily host bingo com­pe­ti­tions sev­eral times each week through­out Perth and raise more than $250,000 an­nu­ally for Con­quer Cys­tic Fi­bro­sis.

“We had no fam­ily con­nec­tion to cys­tic fi­bro­sis but have since met so many beau­ti­ful young peo­ple with this dis­ease who de­serve the chance to grow old,” Mr Man­war­ing said.

Mr Man­war­ing said Su­per Bingo at the Clare­mont Show­ground in Robinson Pav­il­ion would at­tract up to 2500 peo­ple.

He said he hoped to raise be­tween $60,000 and $100,000.

“If it goes well, we will do it ev­ery year,” he said.

Event-go­ers also have the chance to en­ter a cash raf­fle on the day and win up to $10,000.

Con­quer Cys­tic Fi­bro­sis com­mit­tee mem­ber and Subiaco res­i­dent Lisa Younger’s six-year-old son Josh has CF.

She said events like Su­per Bingo were im­por­tant in help­ing find a cure for the life-threat­en­ing dis­or­der.
