Dancers step it up for na­tional event

STU­DENTS from a Tuart Hill dance school have im­pressed at a re­cent na­tional com­pe­ti­tion.

West­coast Phys­i­cal Cul­ture Club had seven rep­re­sen­ta­tives at the Aus­tralian Physie and Dance As­so­ci­a­tion’s ju­nior and ladies na­tional cham­pi­onships.

Physie is a dance sport in­cor­po­rat­ing bal­let, hip hop, con­tem­po­rary, gym­nas­tics, dance aer­o­bics and pi­lates.

Kiana Can­non (11, pic- tured), Am­ber Davey (6) and Dar­cie Co­hen (8) en­tered na­tion­als as zone cham­pi­ons, with Kiana and Am­ber pro­gress­ing through to the semi-fi­nals.

Chloe Davey (8) and Grace Mca­dam (14) also danced at the ju­nior com­pe­ti­tion.

Laura Lauder and Jas­mine Waterer rep­re­sented the club in the ladies na­tion­als cham­pi­onships, with the lat­ter mak­ing it to the top 30.
