THE Charleville Visitor Information Centre (VIC) will have a new home as of this weekend as it makes the move from the Cosmos Centre to the railway station this week.

Murweh Shire tourism manager Monique Johnson said she was excited about the new possibilities the new VIC destination will provide.

“The idea of the VIC moving began originally after a community meeting a couple of years ago and the community requested it be moved to the railway station,” she said.

“We hope the new location will bring more traffic into the town centre and bring the 60-year-old heritage building to life again.”

It also adds another tourism product in town with the bilby centre next door.

In the future Ms Johnson hopes the VIC will provide audio visual aspects as well as online booking features.

The VIC opening hours will be 9am–5pm weekdays and from 10am–2pm on weekends.
