Southwest groups gain grants from gaming fund
COMMUNITIES throughout the southwest have received a huge funding boost through the State Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
Nine community groups from Roma, Dulacca, Injune, Mitchell and Wallumbilla will receive a share of $160,780 while five community groups from Augathella, Charleville, Cunnamulla, Eulo and Quilpie will receive a share of $68,509.
The funding boost has been announced by Member for Warrego Ann Leahy.
■ Dulacca and District Kindy will be able to upgrade its playground with $15,000
■ Injune Golf Club will be assisted with the construction of a shed with a grant of $25,200
■ Maranoa Music will be able to buy a much-needed photocopier with a grant of $5000
■ Maranoa Netball will also receive $31,260 towards the upgrade of a kitchen
■ Mitchell Bowling Club will receive $15,000 towards its kitchen upgrade.
■ Wallumbilla Working Cattle Dog Trial committee will receive $29,000
■ the Men’s Shed will receive $23,086 to install solar panels.
Murweh, Quilpie and Paroo
■ Quilpie sport and recreation groups will be the big winners of the funding boost and will receive $34,829 to install new solar panels
■ Charleville Little Athletics will receive $14,318 to buy sporting equipment
■ Augathella Diggers and Rodeo Association will receive a grant of $8500 for a new shade structure
■ Cunnamulla branch of the Blue Light Association will receive shearing equipment with a grant of $7080.
