Mu­sic will rock the bush

TWO of Aus­tralia’s big­gest rock mu­sic acts will head­line a spe­cial char­ity con­cert in Dir­ran­bandi this win­ter.

Paul Kelly and Cold Chisel’s Ian Moss will be mak­ing their way to the small town on June 2 to raise funds for the Dir­ran­bandi P-10 Agri­cul­tural Stud­ies Pro­gram.

The Dir­ran­bandi Pas­toral & Agri­cul­tural As­so­ci­a­tion, the host of the event, is work­ing to­wards sus­tain­ing this Agri­cul­tural Stud­ies Pro­gram within the school, fund­ing schol­ar­ships to agri­cul­tural col­leges and sup­port­ing those who stay in the com­mu­nity.

Event or­gan­iser Danny Shee­han said the pro­gram was work­ing to com­bat the de­creas­ing pop­u­la­tion in small towns.

“It’s help­ing the area, and it’s show­ing peo­ple in the city the other side – it’s show­ing them what ru­ral life is all about,” Mr Shee­han said.

“We have Ian Moss, Paul Kelly and The Prea­tures all con­firmed for the event.”
