Mayor bullish about installation

VISITORS to the Dalby saleyards received an unexpected welcome as they arrived for sale on Wednesday, March 21.

A new piece of art greeted vendors and buyers and left people questioning the origins of the bull.

The bull was commissioned by council staff members about two years ago and has seemingly been forgotten.

Councillor Ray Brown says he would inquirie about how the bull ended up at the saleyards.

“This never came across the Saleyards Committee, so I am asking the CEO why it is here,” Cr Brown said.

Mayor Paul McVeigh said there was a explanation for the bovine sculpture.

“Unfortunately the artist had fallen ill, so that delayed the project by at least a year,” Cr McVeigh said.
