Sheldon navigates childhood
Young Sheldon, Nine, Monday at 7.30pm
THE Big Bang Theory viewers have come to know and love the eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper, and now in a new half-hour comedy series they have the chance to meet him in childhood.
Young Sheldon follows his innocent, awkward and hopeful journey toward manhood.
It isn’t easy growing up in Texas when you are a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics; science isn’t helpful in a land where church and football are king.
While the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naive Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him.
His father, George, does not understand him and his mother, Mary, is fiercely protective.
