Fund boost for south­west clubs

MEM­BER for War­rego Ann Leahy is pleased to an­nounce that five com­mu­nity groups from Charleville, Au­gathella and Mun­gal­lala will re­ceive a share of $118,026 in fund­ing from the Gam­bling Com­mu­nity Ben­e­fit Fund.

“The Lions Club of Charleville will be able to in­stall air con­di­tion­ing and con­struct a cup­board along with pur­chas­ing fur­ni­ture with a grant of $18,926,” Ms Leahy said.

“The Royal Fly­ing Doc­tor Ser­vice base in Charleville will be able to in­stall a so­lar sys­tem with a grant of $35,000.”

Ms Leahy said the Au­gathella Aqua Ants Swim­ming Club would be able to up­grade its fa­cil­ity and pur­chase equip­ment with a grant of $35,000, and the Au­gathella Se­nior Rugby Club will be able to pur­chase a grand­stand and a fridge with a grant of $11,600.

The Mun­gal­lala Progress and Sport­ing As­so­ci­a­tion re­ceived a $17,500 grant to pur­chase new equip­ment.

“The Gam­bling Com­mu­nity Ben­e­fit Fund is a quar­terly pro­gram pro­vid­ing up to $35,000 to com­mu­nity groups,” Ms Leahy said.

“In this fund­ing round, a to­tal of $466,144 will be pro­vided to 19 or­gan­i­sa­tions across the War­rego elec­torate.”
