Fund boost for southwest clubs
MEMBER for Warrego Ann Leahy is pleased to announce that five community groups from Charleville, Augathella and Mungallala will receive a share of $118,026 in funding from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
“The Lions Club of Charleville will be able to install air conditioning and construct a cupboard along with purchasing furniture with a grant of $18,926,” Ms Leahy said.
“The Royal Flying Doctor Service base in Charleville will be able to install a solar system with a grant of $35,000.”
Ms Leahy said the Augathella Aqua Ants Swimming Club would be able to upgrade its facility and purchase equipment with a grant of $35,000, and the Augathella Senior Rugby Club will be able to purchase a grandstand and a fridge with a grant of $11,600.
The Mungallala Progress and Sporting Association received a $17,500 grant to purchase new equipment.
“The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is a quarterly program providing up to $35,000 to community groups,” Ms Leahy said.
“In this funding round, a total of $466,144 will be provided to 19 organisations across the Warrego electorate.”
